
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining beneficial purchasing arrangements for a broad range of goods and services across all areas of the University. The appointment is to provide maternity cover.
This challenging role demands well developed communication skills, along with experience of modern procurement practices and contract management. The ability to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines and targets is essential. Familiarity with current public procurement legislation and the Scottish Public Procurement Reform Programme is desirable.
You will be a self-motivated graduate or equivalent, with a minimum of three years experience working in a direct procurement role within a customer focused environment.
This is a fixed term appointment for one year.

You will work closely with academic staff in the Stirling Management School and the departments of Computer Science and mathematics, Law and Sport Studies helping them to apply C&IT in order to enhance various programmes in the School and Departments.

The post holder will be part of the Operational Risk and Environmental Sustainability (OR&ES) team which is responsible for ensuring that the University’s safety, business continuity and environmental sustainability performance is of a good standard.
Reporting to the Head of OR&ES, the post holder will be primarily responsible for developing a framework and process for business continuity that proactively improves the University’s resilience against the disruption of its business critical activities; and assisting on aspects of safety management as required.
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a relevant post graduate or professional qualification (e.g. Business Continuity Management) together with experience of working within higher education of a comparable environment. A safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate) or experience in safety management is also desirable. You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, be able to influence, and work within multi disciplinary teams.

The School of Law offers a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and engages in a variety of research activities.
Your duties will involve a variety of secretarial and clerical tasks, providing administrative and secretarial support for staff and students. Assisting the School Assistant, you may often be the first port of call for staff, students and visitors, and will be required to respond to routine enquiries and requests for information.
You will have a good educational background along with knowledge and experience of using Microsoft packages Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of working in an office environment would be an advantage and it is essential that you have strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, including an effective and pleasant telephone manner. You will be flexible, a team worker and be able to exercise imitative.
